Why we eliminated our 30-Day free trial

Since the beginning of Easy Tee, we’ve held a firm belief: golf course owners and operators should have a chance to actually use their tee sheet and booking engine before committing to it long-term.

Our 30-day free trial, paired with real, self-service onboarding, has always been the primary way we demonstrate that commitment. While both of these are practically unheard of in the golf industry, where multi-year contracts and massive setup fees are the norm, for us, it’s just business as usual.

However, over time, we discovered a glaring problem with the 30-day clock.

The “Offseason” Problem

Golf isn’t a year-round business for everyone. We noticed a recurring pattern: proactive course managers would sign up for Easy Tee in January or February to get ahead of the curve. They’d spend time setting up their course, configuring their Square POS, and training their staff.

But by the time the snow melted and the first golfer arrived in April, their 30-day trial had long since expired. They were receiving “Trial Ended” emails before they had even booked a single real tee time.

We realized that by sticking to a traditional “time-based” trial, we were inadvertently punishing the most organized operators. We were forcing them to choose between “wasting” their trial in the winter or rushing their setup in the spring.

That didn’t sit right with us. So, we’re changing the rules.

Introducing: The 30-Booking Trial (With No Time Limit)

Starting today, we are officially replacing our 30-day trial with a Success-Based Trial.

Your trial now stays active until you have completed 30 bookings in the system. Whether that takes you three days or three months, the clock doesn’t start until your golfers do.
